Story

I keep a short memory on purpose.

A deal falls through. A month goes quiet. Somebody tells you no. You take the lesson and you stop wearing the bruise. That is the whole trick — not a slogan, a work habit.

Two decades in sales. Sales leadership after that. Then I stopped building someone else's floor and started building my own. I founded and grew one of the largest independent real estate brokerages in Western Pennsylvania. A roster of 60+ agents. Same building. Same standard.

The brokerage started the way a lot of real things start: a conversation that should have stayed a conversation. 2017. We opened Deacon Hoover Real Estate Advisors anyway. I am broker and owner. With Ease Property Management came from the other side of the same work — landlords who needed the doors run like a business. I am CEO and founder. The Hoover Fund is the lending arm: capital for people who already know how to do deals, and a place for people who want their money on those deals. I am founder.

I have spoken at 50+ events, including Inman Connect. I wrote a book, Short-Term Memory Loss, about using sales as a tool for a life — a career, a balance sheet, the decades after the closing — not just a quota. Amazon. The podcast is the same conversation when the room is empty.

This is operator work. Not a virtual office with a drop box and a Zoom background. Pittsburgh HQ sits at 617 Forest Ave in Bellevue. If you want the transaction, that is the brokerage. If you own rentals, that is With Ease. If you want to borrow or put money to work, that is the Fund. If you want to work here, keep reading.
